Aidan has over 15 years’ experience in cost estimation and modelling and is skilled in the work of government, having held executive and leadership roles through the Department of Health and Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Aidan has in depth knowledge of the Commonwealth financial framework, the Commonwealth budget process, strategic policy and project and program management. He has reviewed national health funding models, costed major government investment, provided budget advice to the Minister and successfully led major transformation projects.
At the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Aidan was the project manager responsible for delivering the Priority Investment Approach (actuarial modelling) that won a 2019 Australian Computer Society Gold Disruptors Award and a 2020 Australian Business Innovation Award.
More recently, Aidan spearheaded the co-design of the Veteran Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and National Action Plan, working across government to ensure the unique needs of veterans were considered in the 2021-22 Budget as part of significant investment into mental health reforms.
