Greg Yorke is an expert senior executive who has over 50 years experience with the Australian Government, particularly in the Department of Defence. His strengths include strategic management, relationship and stakeholder management, leading and managing complex organisations through challenges and change, programme and project management, contingency planning and he is an excellent people manager. He has a sound knowledge of government and security organisations and has broad experience in international relations and overseas military organisations. Greg also has exceptional interpersonal and communications skills able to relate well across all levels of organisations, nationally and internationally.
In the course of his career, leadership roles have included strategic, command, operational and project responsibilities complemented by notable academic qualifications. He is passionate about Veterans, people and teams, behavioural and organisational change, and leadership.
Greg was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia for exceptional service to the Royal Australian Navy in senior command positions in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours and he was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross for his leadership during Operation Falconer (the 2003 War in Iraq), as a Captain, while serving as the Chief Staff Officer (Operations), Maritime Headquarters.
